Markus is a playful explorer of life, a humanist, and above all, a utopian. He believes that we all need to strive for the impossible by applying ourselves and our collective energies to creating heaven on earth within this lifetime.

A Finnish-Canadian Earthling who spends most of his time in Istanbul, he has been fortunate and courageous enough to pursue diverse work and life experiences in more than 20 countries over his 25-year career. He applies his experience and craft to building self- managing decentralized systems (from blockchain to city master planning), developing transformational growth and change (from self to organization), and to working as a developer, curator, speaker, consultant, investor, adviser, mentor, facilitator, musician, matchmaker, dreamer … with people and initiatives that inspire his mind, heart, and soul.

In 2015 he co-founded Joint Idea as a “community of serendipity” to connect ideas seeking the right people, place, and time.
