LIANE EXAMINES THE SACRED AND THE PROFANE IN GLOBAL TOILET CULTURE.

Liane is a writer, teacher, content creator, and cultural organizer from Kuwait (with Palestinian roots). She has dedicated her work in cultural criticism to the sacred and profane, from poop to Sufism. She is the creator and presenter of The Review, a show on arts and culture from a Middle Eastern perspective and with a new age twist. As the founder of The Scribes, a company that provides copywriting, translation, and editing services, she manages a global team of freelance Arabic, English, French, German, and Hindi writers, translators, and editors.

With a bachelor and masters degree in English literature and creative writing from Stanford University, Liane has a background in the arts, having served as the director of the Contemporary Art Platform (CAP Kuwait) and attended the Home Workspace Program at Ashkal Alwan in Beirut, Lebanon.
