Guy stands up for basic income as a human right.

Guy is a labor economist and professorial research associate at SOAS University of London. In his most recent book, Battling Eight Giants: Basic Income Now, he argues for UBI as a matter of justice. 

Previously, Guy held chairs at SOAS and the universities of Bath and Monash, following a long career at the International Labour Organization where he directed its Socio-Economic Security Programme. He is a founder and honorary co-president of the Basic Income Earth Network, an international non-profit promoting UBI. His many books include Plunder of the Commons: A Manifesto for Sharing Public Wealth (2019), The Corruption of Capitalism: Why Rentiers Thrive and Work Does Not Pay (2016), and The Precariat: The New Dangerous Class (2011; third edition 2016).
